Join ceramic designer Alex Allday in her studio at Middleport Pottery for a 4 week ceramic design course that will enable you to challenge your creativity in a fun and stimulating environment and equip you with a variety of different skills and knowledge within ceramics and surface design.   During this 4 week course you will learn the process of slip casting to cast your own Vase and tealights/pots in porcelain. You will then be shown a variety of surface decoration techniques and how to fettle/clean up your pieces ready to be fired. Join Ceramic Designer Alex Allday in her studio at Middleport Pottery for a half-day vase decorating workshop.   You will learn how to decorate your own porcelain stem vase with a variety of surface decoration techniques and processes using coloured slips, stains and different tools to create sgraffito, textures and patterns. To finish you will be shown how to fettle/ clean up your vase ready to be fired. Vases will be ready slip casted for you to work straight on to and you will be able to practise your designs and these techniques before decorating your vase.   When: Saturday 4^th April 2020   Time: 10:30 – 1pm   Cost: £35 per person Which includes all materials and firing   Max number of participants 6 Min age 16+   Held in Alex's Studio – @ No.5 , Middleport Pottery, Port Street, Stoke-on-Trent, ST6 3PE   All abilities welcome and you do not need to have prior knowledge and experience in ceramics. Learn how to slip cast in porcelain and decorate your pieces with ceramic designer Alex Allday in her studio at Middleport Pottery.   During this 1 day workshop you will spend the morning learning the process of slip casting using plaster moulds to cast your own Stem Vase and tealights/pots in porcelain.
