Porcelain Hanging Planter Workshop
Join Ceramic Designer, Alex Allday on this workshop to create your own porcelain hanging planter pockets. You’ll learn how to hand build in porcelain, along with how to apply a variety of surface decoration techniques to create your own beautiful hanging planter pocket. Once fired the pockets are watertight so you display real flower stems in them. Alex will provide all tools, colours and a variety of different decorating mediums, however if there is any objects you’d like to bring for inspiration or to use to help decorate your planter pockets (i.e things like leaves, shells, buttons pressed into the clay create lovely patterns and textures) please feel free to bring them along. All pieces made will be taken back to Alex’s studio at Middleport Pottery to be fired and can be collected from there. Your piece can also be posted out but there will be a charge £3 to cover this. Included in ticket price: All materials, tools, aprons and the firing of all pockets made as well as refreshments - a selection of teas, coffee and cakes throughout the session.
